The company Kolympari S.A. was originally founded in 2000 by the Mihelakis family, who has been active in the production and the trade of olive oil since 1980. The scope of Kolympari S.A. is the production and standardization of exclusively authentic premium extra virgin olive oils, as well as, olive oil with the protected designation of origin (P.D.O.) KOLYMPARI.
The olive oils produced by Kolympari S.A. are conducted by natural methods using modern oil presses that are observed under strict low thermal and sanitary conditions .While the time between the harvesting and the crushing of the olive fruit is reduced to a minimum, so that its nutrients, its gold green color and its fruity taste are not altered. Then stored in stainless steal tanks, kept in their privately owned facility under monitored environmental conditions, so that its qualitative characteristics can be retained unaltered.
The extra virgin olive oil from the Kolympari vicinity of Chania is guaranteed to promote health and to meaningfully please the palate all at once. They are obsessed with the desire to offer the best possible product. To insure consistent quality they do everything themselves. They grow the olives in their family’s orchards, they extract the olive-oil in their own meticulously maintained facility, they store it in stainless steel tanks (fusing a bit of modern technology into the age-old traditions to maintain full flavour and freshness while in storage) and they bottle and label it in-house as well. Then stamp it with all the pertinent information (date, place, method and certification of purity) and rush it to your table.
